About Me

I am currently a research scholar under Prime Minister's Research Fellow (PMRF) scheme at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi advised by Dr. Arnab Bhattacherjee. My research is centered around the interaction between protein and Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecules, especially addressing the biophysical aspects of cellular transport and trafficking of proteins on DNA track. This aims to understand the role of single stranded DNA binding proteins in its association with ssDNA and the role of DNA conformational dynamics in protein diffusion in different genetic processes, for example, DNA replication, recombination and repair.

    Dr. Arnab Bhattacherjee is currently working as an Associate Professor in the School of Computational & Integrative Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

    Dr. Arnab Bhattacherjee's broad area of interest is to decipher the molecular details of protein folding, dynamics and interactions with other biomolecules such as protein/peptide/nucleic acids that have long term implications for combating medical conditions such as Creuzfeld-Jacob (Mad Cow disease), Alzheimer’s, and cancer. 
    He primarily adopts theoretical and different molecular simulation techniques at various levels of complexity to adress the problems. On a recent note, he has started investigating the mechanism and biophysics of different molecular motors and nanomachines from a system perspective.
