The workshop is designed to give the participants an introduction to programming in R and to teach them some basic statistical analysis. The 5 day workshop will have one session in morning and one in the afternoon, each consisting of around one hour of lecture followed by two-hour practical session.

Course Audience
The workshop is for beginners with some prior experience in Programming and wants to analyze and visualize their own data using R. Preference will be given to our MTech students and PhD/Project research fellows.

Course Topics
Day I: Introduction to R--Object types, data structures, data manipulation, importing and exporting data, intro to programming, writing efficient code, object orientation
Day II: Plotting with R--Graphics devices, high-level plotting
Day III: Exploratory data analysis, Classification and cluster analysis
Day IV: Statistics with R-- Basic statistical functions, linear models
Day V: Data analysis
